LITHONIA, Ga. -- Martin Luther King Jr. High School's (MLK) head football coach Michael Carson has been placed on administrative leave for inappropriate contact with the parent of a player.
Contrary to some media reports, Carson has been suspended with pay while the matter is investigated. The mother of a player alleges that Carson texted her inappropriate photos of himself.
Assistant Coach Rober Freeman has been elevated to Interim Head Coach of the MLK Football team. The teams practices have been closed to the public and to the media.
The MLK Lions are scheduled to open the 2012 season September 1 against Stockbridge.
