Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Exert
Formal training, conducted through registered training organisations (RTOs) is required to obtain a high risk work licence. Please note that accredited assessors are required to provide six business days notice to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland prior to conducting the assessment.
Formal training is usually conducted in a classroom style environment and covers all elements of the unit of competency associated with the licence class/es. It includes both theory and practical demonstrations of the safe use and operation of the plant.
The person undergoing training will need to undertake formal training from a RTO first, which includes supervised practical training, prior to being assessed.
As a condition of accreditation, assessors are not permitted to conduct an assessment for a high risk work licence class unless they sight evidence of formal training and supervised practical training (e.g. log book).
